MEC for health visits Hazyview Clinic

MEC Sasekani Manzini interacted with patients during the health outreach programme.

The MEC for health, Sasekani Manzini, visited Hazyview Clinic as part of her outreach programme on Tuesday May 16.

According to Manzini, the aim of the visit was to engage with the patients to check if they are satisfied with the services, and to find out whether the patients wait for too long before being attended to.

“As the Department of Health it is our responsibility to listen to the challenges of our patients and to monitor any experiences they are faced with at their local clinics,” Manzini said.

She encouraged patients to use their local clinics before going to Hazyview to avoid unnecessary expenses in terms of transport.

According to the clinic’s operational manager, Sr Sinna Mkhatshwa, the clinic services 36 nearby farms and the town of Hazyview.
“The medical stock availability is at 97%, however, we are concerned about the availability of antiretroviral therapy. Patients from nearby villages leave their local facilities and spend money to come to Hazyview clinic to collect medication.”
