Young mother from Standford near Hazyview needs assistance

Mbalenhle Mashiloane and her baby are barely surviving in the dilapidated, unsafe home in which they live. She is in need of clothing, food and sanitary towels.

An 18-year-old, Mbalenhle Mashiloane, from Standford near Hazyview, now totally on her own, raised by an abusive extended family and never knowing her biological parents, needs your help.

She and her baby are barely surviving in a dilapidated, unsafe house, formerly belonging to her late grandparents, with no doors or locks.

“I had to fall pregnant so that I could apply for a child support grant to survive. Someone applied on my behalf as I was too young, but this small grant still is not enough for me and my baby. We are in desperate need of clothing, more food and sanitary towels for me.

“I want to further my studies, but I cannot, because I do not have any support,” said Mashiloane. She is depending on some of her neighbours for food.

Despite her dire situation, she passed her Grade 12 last year. She is reaching out to the public to assist her in obtaining proper housing, and for an opportunity to study further. Hazyview Herald’s efforts to obtain any comment from her extended family proved unfruitful.
