Man in the dock for impersonating attorney in Bethal Magistrate’s Court

Doctor Sobeta pretended to the legal representative of Mhlabuyaxega Mntungwa who is co-accused in the murder of a former manager of Sam Holdings.

Doctor Sobeta (31) appeared in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court for impersonating an attorney.

He represented Mhlabuyaxega Mntungwa (37), who is accused of the murder of a former manager of Sam Holdings, Nkosinathi Emmanuel Ngcongo.

According to the Mpumalanga Hawks’ spokesperson, Captain Dineo Sekgotodi, Mntungwa was arrested in KwaZulu-Natal on February 1.
“He made an appearance in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court on March 24 when he was represented by his fake attorney, Sobeta.”

Sobeta made his court appearance with Mntungwa on Monday. The case was postponed to April 3 for a bail hearing while the Hawks continue with the investigation.

Sobeta faces charges of impersonating an attorney, while Mntungwa faces charges of Ngcongo’s murder.

Sekgotodi said Ngcongo was fatally shot by Mntungwa (allegedly) and his co-accused Phindokuhle Eugene Nkosi (30) during a drive-by shooting on September 12, 2019.
