KaBokweni model is the new Miss Teen International South Africa

Thembelihle Jele dedicated the crown to all teenage girls in the country.

The 16-year-old fashion and pageant model, Thembelihle Jele, is the new Miss Teen International South Africa. She was crowned in Durban on Sunday March 12.

Thembelihle said she is excited about the new journey, but is already thinking about the next venture to take part in. She is not a first time time national crown bearer. Her bio includes being Miss Teen Glam SA 2021.

“Thank you so much for the love that Mpumalanga has shown me. I have made KaBokweni proud. I did everything I could to win this title and I will do everything to show the world that I deserved it,” she said.

She participated in charity drives around KaBokweni and did talk sessions with her peers to encourage them to stay in school.

“This is a build-up to all the work ahead of me. I want to encourage sisterhood to South African girls. I also want to study and work hard because education cannot be taken away from them.”

The Lowveld High School Grade 12 learner said receiving the crown was a dream come true.


“My dreams are valid and I know more of my dreams will come true such as travelling to Florida in USA for a fashion modelling international competition. I cannot wait to jet off in July.”

Thembelihle encouraged those who look up to her, always strive to be their authentic selves and to venture into ways to elevate their lives.
