Elephant Private College honours teachers

The teachers were spoilt to a luncheon to thank them for their hard work, having obtained a 100% pass rate with the Class of 2022.

The educators of Elephant Private College (EPC) were honoured for their excellent work in producing a 100% pass rate with the Class of 2022.

The management of this independent school recently celebrated the educators during a luncheon at eBundu Lodge. This is the first time in its history that it has obtained a 100% pass rate.

EPC’s senior director, Solly Mkhabela, said this achievement was expected, as new management had taken over the school in 2021.

“The school was in a bad state before we took over. Over the past two years, we have made it our goal to produce the best results, so that the school can gain its dignity in the community of Hazyview,” Mkhabela said.

He said there was a collective effort to instil values in the educators and pupils to produce a conducive teaching and learning environment.

“There was a change in attitude, and we started the journey of adopting values such as discipline and productivity into our learners. We have made the White Hazy 1 Circuit very proud,” he said.

Mkhabela welcomed the new principal, Sipho Mathebula. He said he is confident Mathebula is an excellent candidate to run EPC successfully.

Mathebula said the target for the next years is to obtain quality results.

“We need the learners to obtain more distinctions and bachelor passes. We have 130 Grade 12s enrolled for 2023 and we have already put strategies in place to obtain our goal. We have implemented an afterschool programme, and have monthly performance reviews of the pupils,” Mathebula said.

Mkhabela and Mathebula congratulated the educators who had achieved a 100% pass rate for their subjects.
