KaNyamazane teen competing in global pageant

Bajabulisile Thela is representing South Africa in the Teen Universe International beauty pageant in Spain.

The current Teen Universe South Africa, Bajabulisile Thela, hopes to bring the crown home as she competes in the Teen Universe International beauty pageant in Spain.

Mpumalanga News had the chance to speak to Thela before she jetted off on Monday February 20.

“I am over the moon to be competing on an international stage. I cannot wait to see and experience other cultures valued by young girls. I am taking this opportunity as a learning experience,” the gorgeous youngster said.

Thela said she will fly the South Africa flag high and will represent the Likazi township proudly. “I plan to work hard in the six-day competition so that I can bring the crown home,” she said.

The Teen Universe International competition started on Wednesday February 22 and the crowning will take place on Tuesday February 28.

She appreciated the support locals have shown her and would appreciate more.

“There is no voting line for this competition, but interaction on my social media posts would be appreciated,” Thela said.

The beauty queen has been competing in pageants since Grade Five. “Modelling and pageants have played a big role in my life. They have boosted my confidence and self-esteem as a young woman,” she said.

Thela is no stranger to the national stage. She is the 2021 Miss Teen Grand SA.

She said she has gained so much experience locally and competing internationally was a dream come true.
