Chief Tikhontele Dlamini of the Lomshiya Tribal Authority in KaBokweni will be back in the dock on Monday February 27. Chief Dlamini faces charges of the murder of his son, Zwelithini Dlamini.
The traditional leader was granted R7 000 bail in November last year by the KaBokweni Magistrate’s Court. The 80-year-old was arrested on Friday November 4 on suspicion that he had hired a hitman to kill his son on January 4, 2021.

The state has alleged that an argument broke between the father and son over a piece of land the chief had leased for R2m. Zwelithini was murdered, assassination-style, at his home in Matsulu a few days later.
During the accused’s bail hearing, he was instructed to report to Matsulu Police Station every Friday.
