Dludluma Village in Nkomazi severely affected by rain

The Nkomazi area has been affected by the heavy downpours over the past week.

Community members in Dludluma Village near KaMaqhekeza have been left stranded as roads are currently flooded due to the heavy rain.

The main road from Ngwenyeni Village, which is gravel, has been destroyed by the rainfall.

According to some locals, commuters have been unable to get to Dludluma Clinic, Mbombo Combined School and other surrounding areas due to the damaged road.

One of the community members, Nompumelelo Themba, said the government could have prevented such a disaster if proper roads with drainage systems had been developed as promised.

“If the government had constructed the main road with proper drainage systems, as they promised in 2019, we would not be stuck. We cannot go anywhere,” said Themba.
