Two women were nabbed by police on Saturday February 4 after allegedly defrauding banks in Matsamo Mall and Matsulu respectively. The pair was arrested at Matsamo Mall after one successful fraudulent transaction and one failed attempt.
According to the SAPS, the suspects made a loan of an undisclosed amount of cash which was successfully paid into their account.

“Greediness led them to make another application for a credit card. Little did they know that their previous failed fraudulent activities at a branch of the same bank at Kamaqhekeza Plaza was going to be communicated to their counterparts in Matsamo Mall.

When the bank consultant was busy processing their credit card application, information was received from Kamaqhekeza to be on the lookout for two women who had attempted to make fraudulent applications.
The bank contacted the Schoemansdal police who reacted quickly and the two suspects were arrested,” reads a statement.
