Pienaar business man ploughs back through school shoes donation

Nicholus Magilane-Chibi spearheaded a school shoes donation drive in various schools within Nsikazi townships.

Over 50 learners within the Nsikazi townships will now walk with pride and dignity to school following a Good Samaritan’s gesture by a local businessman, Nicholus Magilane-Chibi, in collaboration with the Zone B youth league members.

Magilane-Chibi runs a number of businesses in Pienaar known as Spy, and according to him, he is now ploughing back to the community.

The schools that received these much-needed gifts are Lihawu Secondary, Gedlembane Secondary, Vukasambe Primary, Mbokoto Primary and Sindzawonye Primary.
“I wanted to make a difference after seeing many of these children walking to school barefoot and some with torn sneakers. This touched me and I engaged with the youth league members and we decided to become involved and make a change,” said Magilane-Chibi

“With the help of parents, community leaders and ward councillors they identified the kids who were in dire need of shoes. I understand how it feels to go to school barefoot or with damaged shoes, it kills your self-esteem.

If we invest in helping the young ones who are determined to make a success of their education, we are helping create a better future and leaders of tomorrow,” said Magilane-Chibi.

He went to other schools and urged the principals and the teachers to identify more children who are in need, to send the names and sizes to him so that he can chip in and help where he can.

He further appealed to other local businesses to take care of the community as they also support the businesses.
“I am challenging and begging at the same time with other local business people to help poverty-stricken communities wherever they can. I believe that charity begins at home, so our people in Nsikazi must be taken care of.”
