Mr Mpumalanga gains votes representing Africa in Mr Tourism World

Abednico Mabaso is leading the Mr Tourism World competition with more than 9 000 votes.

Mpumalanga and the rest of Africa are rallying behind Mr Mpumalanga, Abednico Mabaso, who is doing quite nicely in the Mr Tourism World competition.

He had more than 9 600 votes by this afternoon, February 1, leaving the 26 other countries trailing behind.

This 30-year-old is from a small, dusty village, Mphenyatsatsi in Bushbuckridge, and is flying the South African flag high.

The Mr Tourism World pageant is still under way in the Philippines until Saturday February 4.

The ABM Foundation, the Mr Mpumalanga organisers, urged the public to continue voting for Mabaso to reach at least 10 000 votes.
