Back-to-back draws for TS Galaxy

The Rockets failed to grab three points from the struggling Moroka Swallows during the recent game.

TS Galaxy and Moroka Swallows shared the spoils after a physical goalless draw on Sunday afternoon, January 15, in the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.

Swallows player Gregory Damons was given his marching orders with a red card to take an early shower after a reckless challenge on Mlungisi Mbunjana in the 48th minute.

TS Galaxy have scored eight goals and conceded eight this PSL season, but based on current patterns, it appears they will surpass Moroka Swallows’ record for the most draws in a season.

TS Galaxy made a change to their line-up, adding Vasilije Kolak between the posts as their net minder after first-choice shot-stopper Melusi Buthelezi was ruled out due to an unspecified injury.

Galaxy had more ball possession in the first half in enemy territory, but failed to ignite. Although Swallows struggled to maintain ball possession and their structure was not up to par, they were the better side and created more dangerous chances, as they move forward with rhythm.

Galaxy currently have 19 points after 10 draws, three victories and three losses, while the Dube Birds are just two spots above the bottom of the table and, if they are not careful, they will face the axe.

Galaxy have a mammoth task ahead of them to try secure a place in the top eight.

The Rockets will travel to the Western Cape for an away clash against Cape Town City on Friday evening, January 20. The Swallows will make a trip to the Peter Mokaba Stadium to play against the feisty Sekhukhune United, who have been on some winning ways.
