Stellies hold TS Galaxy to a goalless draw in Mbombela

The Rockets have now drawn nine times in their last 15 league contests.

The Cape Town outfit Stellenbosch FC held the Rockets to a goalless draw earlier tonight (January 8) at Mbombela Stadium, giving them their second tie of 2023.

With only three victories and three defeats, TS Galaxy have now played in nine ties overall in 15 games.

TS Galaxy and Royal AM began the new year with a share of the spoils on Tuesday January 3, five days prior, at their DStv Premiership match at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban, which ended in a scoreless draw.

The Rockets ended the year on a high note by defeating Maritzburg United 2-1 at the Harry Gwala Stadium after coming from behind to win.

Despite controlling 62% of the game’s possessions and coming out strong in the second stanza, the Rockets were unable to score at home and had to settle for a point.

The Stellies have moved from position 14 to stand on 13 with 16 points after tonight’s tie, while The Rockets have climbed from position 12 to stand on 10 with 18 points.

The Rockets will visit Soweto Dobsonville on January 15 to face the Dube birds Moroka Swallows.
