Young muso takes over Pienaar with trap soul music

Junior Assado said he uses music to share his life experiences and uplift his peers.

A trap soul music singer-songwriter, Junior Assado (23) is realising his dream through music. Music is his passion and he is prepared to make a living through it.

Also known as Budalover MP, the musician discovered his love of music in 2016 and has a few singles to his name, such as the latest one, “Amathousand”.

“My journey as a musician has not been easy. Opportunities to record my music were scarce, but I never despaired. I kept on composing and writing until I recorded my first single, ‘Love Me’, and gathered funds for the music video that can be streamed on YouTube,” he said.

He said the song has been a successful launch of his professional career.

“The ‘Amathousand’ song was released when I joined Buhlebetive Records. It is an Afro-pop song and I worked with multiple local musicians. It was a great experience because I got the opportunity to learn how other musicians understand music. The song is available on all digital platforms,” he said.

Assado is currently working on his album, Impilo Yami, and will release it in March.

“My inspiration for my music comes from my life experiences. I went through a lot of situations that taught me patience and courage. I want people to be motivated and encouraged by my music,” he said.

Assado wants to travel around the world and collaborate with other musicians.

“I encourage artists in Mpumalanga to keep working with one another because it uplifts many young and upcoming artists like myself. This way we learn from one another and be more creative together. I believe having a vision is important because it a source of motivation, passion and success. Young people must take note that success is created twice, firstly in the mind, then in the external world. Always strive for the impossible, and you will achieve the best. Never stop dreaming,” Assado said.
