Lowveld artists dominate Summer Blaze line-up

At least 15 local musicians made it to the line-up for the highly anticipated summer festival.

A hot line-up including more than 15 of most of the Lowveld’s musical sensations will set the stage ablaze at the inaugural 013 Summer Blaze festival at Mbombela Stadium on December 3.

Some of the musicians include the award-winning Phumla Music, DJ Sdunkero, Dreamboy Da Vocalist, DJ Tonic T, DJ Mnyasa, Madumane and Mjusca, who will rub shoulders with acclaimed hip-hop music giants AKA and Nasty C, and amapiano music duo Mellow and Sleazy.

Excited to be part of the astounding line-up, Tswarelo Dibakwane, known as Dreamboy Da Vocalist, said he appreciates the platform set by the festival.

“This means a lot to us Nsikazi musicians. We really are in need of entertainment hubs that will prioritise local musicians. I am excited to meet the some of South Africa’s music giants, such as Zola 7,” Dibakwane said.

He said he would perform new songs and people should expect nothing but a hot performance from him.

One of the organisers, Zakhele Mbatsane, said there are more than 15 Mpumalanga-based musicians who will share the stage.

“We need to afford our local artists the opportunity to showcase their talents at home, and the festival is all about that. We have also encouraged young musicians during our Kasi2Kasi activations. The 013 Sumer Blaze Festival is a Mpumalanga entertainment and tourism hub for us and by us,” Mbatsane said.

He said the festival will see entrepreneurs showcase their products at the stadium.

“The ultimate goal is to encourage growth in our tourism sector. There will be a lot of people from our neighbouring countries, Mozambique and eSwatini, to whom we need market our unique products,” he said.

With at least over 2 000 tickets purchased already, more tickets are expected to be sold just a week before the festival.

Mbatsane encouraged people all over Mpumalanga to purchase tickets, available at all Computicket outlets, for R150 for general access and R650 for VIP access.

“Cooler boxes will be allowed for general access only at R100.
