The department said the public can expect a great show during the Mpumalanga Cultural Xperience.

The seventh annual Mpumalanga Cultural Xperience was activated on Monday at the provincial government offices.

A team from the Department of Culture, Sports and Recreation (DCSR), activators and influencers went out to the streets and handed out pamphlets to motorists and the public as a way to market the upcoming shows.
The DCSR has a jam-packed programme with eight stupendous shows.

This much-celebrated annual event promises to deliver yet another memorable event.

It will kick-start on Saturday with the Traditional Xperience: Bakgatla Ba Moepi Traditional Council, Nkangala District. It is followed by the much-celebrated Carnival Xperience on Friday December 2 at the Promenade Centre.

In her speech for the launch, the MEC for culture, sports and recreation, Thandi Shongwe, said the event will provide a platform for artists. “The variety of cultural and artistic events lined up for this year will demonstrate the importance of promoting arts and fostering social cohesion in the province. This year’s Cultural Xperience will be characterised by a diversity of the pillars that form this one majestic cultural festival. We have brought back the International Xperience and Film Xperience. These pillars were put on hold in the past two years due to Covid-19 restrictions.”
