The team beat the visitors 2-1 in a match in which it seemed as if the Mozambique charges were going to win.
Bafana Bafana got off to a shaky start, but picked up the pace as the game proceeded. The visitors began as a house on fire and broke the deadlock in the 12th minute after a clumsy mistake from Mamelodi Sundowns centre back Grant Kekana and his clubmate, Rushine de Reuck. At half-time, Mozambique were leading.

After the first half it seemed like all hope was lost, but Hugo Broos’s dressing room motivation gave the lads the zeal they needed. They waved attack after attack until Bongokuhle Hlongwane levelled matters to keep the home team in the game. He proved why he plays in the pro league and scored the winning goal three minutes after he had scored the first one.

Bafana Bafana will now turn their attention to preparing for the Angolan match on Sunday November 20 at the same venue.
