EFF to build 24-hour clinic in Nkomazi

The provincial leader said the health facility will be built in Ward 11 in Hhoyi.

Following its famous and historic victory during the highly contested by-elections in Nkomazi’s Ward 11, the Mpumalanga EFF plans to show the entire province and country the true meaning of service delivery.

This is according to the party’s provincial chairperson, Collen Sedibe.

Sedibe promised the community of Hhoyi that the EFF was going to build a 24-hour clinic in the area.

He was addressing hundreds of Ward 11 community members during the Siyabonga rally at Hhoyi on Saturday November 5.

“It is an embarrassment that 28 years into democracy, a community as large as Ward 11, which includes Hhoyi, Erickville and Goba, are still without a 24-hour healthcare centre. It’s a great thing that you have trusted the EFF with your votes, and for this we are going to bring services here.

“For starters, we are going to source funds and come back to demolish that two-roomed clinic and build a decent 24-hour clinic here. This is not a promise, but a commitment,” said Sedibe. “The EFF doesn’t make promises, but makes commitments and it always delivers.”

Sedibe said the clinic will be officially opened and handed over to the community in July during the EFF’s 10th anniversary.

“We want to use this particular ward to demonstrate to the entire province what we mean by service delivery. I am sure this is the only reason why you voted us in power in this particular ward, and we shall not disappoint you. We are going to fix not just the potholes, but reconstruct the road from scratch, because as you can see, there is no road at all.”

Sedibe, joined by the party’s national deputy secretary, Poppy Mailola, came back to this ward to officially thank the community members for voting for the EFF during the recent by-elections.

The EFF bagged 1 600 votes, while the ANC managed only 900.

“We are here today to thank all of you. You refused to be intimidated when they told you not to vote for the EFF. You went ahead and made your mark, and for this we want to salute each and every one of you. Change is coming,” said Sedibe.
