Topstar Taxi Association’s chairperson, John Mavundla, told Mpumalanga News that this time around the special will run for three days, moving away from their traditional one-day special.
“The commuters are our customers and we would like to send a special apology to them for the inconvenience we have put them through in the past few weeks. We want them to know as taxi associations that we appreciate their support. We know some might not understand our reasons for blockading the roads, but we wanted to be heard as we have been trying to get the government to address our issues since 2017. We understand that commuters missed work and some had disagreements with their employers and for this, we would like to apologise and we hope they forgive us,” said Mavundla.

The special discount in fares are only being made available to commuters within the Ehlanzeni region.
Mavundla said that as taxi associations they try by all means necessary to give their clients quality service.
“This taxi industry would be nothing and meaningless without our clients and we want them to know that we value them and will never do anything to jeopardise our relationship with them,” said Mavundla.
