Young Mbombela teacher scoops Miss Mpumalanga Heritage 2022 title
The aim of this pageant is to celebrate this country's multifaceted heritage.
Miss Mpumalanga Heritage 2022 was crowned on Heritage Day on Saturday by the Golden Molatche Modelling Agency. Thabsile Ntobela (25) from Mbombela won this title out of 21 finalists. Forty-three models entered this competition.
Ntobela is a teacher by profession and works at St Mark’s International School. She won a modelling portfolio voucher that will boost her modelling career and take her to greater heights.
“This was my second pageant. I am planning to continue modelling and dream of going international.”
During the pageant, seven other titles were awarded: Mini Miss Mpumalanga 2022 was won by Innocentia Mnisi, Miss Mpumalanga Primary School 2022 is Happiness Steyn, Miss Mpumalanga High School 2022 is Nosipho Gama, Mpumalanga’s Next Top Model 2022 is Lebokgang Mthombeni, Miss Mpumalanga Golden Molatche 2022 is Nonhlanhla Mabuza, Miss Mpumalanga Heritage 2022 is Thabsile Ntobela and Miss South Africa Golden Molatche 2022 is Shornen Madalane.

Bongi Siba, the organiser, said Heritage Day is a very special one that must be celebrated by everyone.
“Heritage is a celebration of our culture. We show how proud we are by wearing our distinctive cultural attire and eating our traditional food. We need a generation of leaders, thus we have hosted the event in the hopes of motivating more young minds to stand up not only for themselves, but for the province, country and continent and strive for the independency of each individual within our African borders. So our new queen should reign with love and respect for the people and be a good role model to the future generation.”

Shiba said this pageant is about helping upcoming models to grow in the industry.
“The beauty queens were awarded titles, tiaras, crowns, sashes, bouquets and a modelling portfolio voucher. We plan to improve and get more sponsors that will help us grow.”
She said the public should expect great things from these models as they plan to take their next step internationally.
