First national cap and first win for TS Galaxy goalie

The talented young goalkeeper did not disappoint as he continued with his fine form between the posts.

TS Galaxy’s number-one shot-stopper, Melusi Buthelezi, made his debut in the Bafana Bafana jersey this Saturday at the FNB Stadium.
The young goalie was introduced as a substitute, replacing Ronwen Williams.
This was during the South African national soccer team’s clash with Sierra Leone.
Bafana Bafana recorded a 4-0 victory during the friendly thriller.

Head coach, Hugo Broos, gave the talented young Buthelezi a chance, who did not disappoint as he continued with his fine form between the posts.
Even though he was in the pitch for a short while, most soccer pundits believe that Buthelezi has what it takes to continue in the footsteps of the late Senzo Meyiwa and Brilliant Khuzwayo, both of whom were born in KwaZulu-Natal.

The sports radio presenter, Mbongeni Shongwe, said, “I think the Bafana Bafana coach knows what he is doing. I am saying this, because looking at the youthful players he has included in his team tells a story of a man and a nation in construction. The inclusion of Buthelezi in the national team must serve as proof enough that the coach knows talent and is willing to give such youngsters a platform to showcase their worth. Buthelezi is the next big thing. Just watch the space.”

Broos also gave chances to youngsters Ashley du Preez, Khanyisa Mayo, Mihlali Mayambela, who scored his first goal for Bafana Bafana, Pule Mmodi and Luke le Roux.
