The internationally acclaimed muso, Alick Macheso, will headline the Mbombela Spring Family Picnic billed for Saturday October 1 at the TUT Mbombela Campus.

The ever-enterprising Macheso will perform for the first time in Mbombela, which makes this family picnic a must to attend. Macheso is Zimbabwe’s best-ever selling artist with his album Simbaradzo being the highest-ever-sold album in Zimbabwe.
He is arguably the best sungura artist to ever emerge from Zimbabwe. He came onto the music scene as a solo artist in 1998, with his debut album Magariro, which carried “Pakutema Munda”, probably the least noticeable from that album. It was, however, his third album, Simbaradzo, that shot him to stardom as it made waves across Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Simbaradzo was and still is the best-selling album of all time in Zimbabwe, with hits like “Mundikumbuke” and “Amai VaRubhi”.
Macheso is well known throughout southern Africa as one of the most successful singers and ranked among the best bass guitarists on the continent.
