Skhosana said her upbringing in a conservative and traditional family had a significant impact on her development as a Ndebele social media content creator.

“My poetry was greatly influenced by the music of the IsiNdebele icon, Dr Nothembi Mkhwebane, to whom I listened when growing up; that is where I drew my inspiration from.
“I use social media to interact with my followers and fans in an effort to embrace my culture and educate people about what isiNdebele is and people love what I do. I use social media to preserve my culture and to represent the Ndebele people,” Skhosana said.

“I feel extremely fortunate to be a nominee for the Satma Awards’ Best Traditional Social Media Influencer category. It is already a victory for me, because it signifies my advancement and that others value the work and lessons I give,” she concluded.
