Samas nomination opens doors for Mpumalanga musician

Shisaboy said the nomination was already an achievement for him.

Shisaboy appears to keep on making headlines.
This award-winning kwaito and amapiano maestro keeps on reaching for the stars, as a major deal is now looming.

He might not have won the best kwaito album award during the 28th installment of the Samas on Saturday and Sunday August 27 and 28, but the floodgates of opportunity have certainly opened for him.

Being the only Mpumalanga artist to be nominated for the Samas, Shisaboy was exposed to a lot of major players in the music industry, and his hard work scooped him a major record label deal and countrywide prominence.
He was nominated among the biggest household names in the kwaito genre, such as Amaroto (Reece Madlisa and Sabelo Zuma), who walked away with the best kwaito album award with their Amaroto Vol 2.

Shisaboy said the nomination was already an achievement for him.
“The experience was super, since it was my first time being nominated for such legendary awards and it was also my first time attending the Samas event.
“I must say it was thrilling, yet educative. I learnt a lot and hope to come back stronger to the next Samas and scoop the award.

“The nomination is a huge achievement for me as it opened doors to further establish myself to get recognition, and it helped me get a major record deal, which details I will share with my fans soon. I would like to thank everyone who has been with me throughout this journey. I’m nothing without my fans. They keep me going and I promise to continue blessing them with good music.”

Shisaboy’s manager, Lungile Mnyakeni, said, “We would like to thank all the fans and all the Mpumalanga people who made sure that one of their own was recognised in this music industry.
“We thank everyone for their support throughout this campaign and throughout Shisaboy’s career. He will continue to work on uplifting upcoming artists, as that is his dream and a promise he works hard to fulfill.”
