Taking over the world is the 18-year-old Noluthando Mabaso’s dream, and she is on the way to becoming an international figure as a finalist in the Miss Teen Universe SA. The candid and gorgeous Mabaso is thrilled to represent Mpumalanga in the competition and wishes to bring the crown to Mbombela.
“I am proud to represent my home province in a national competition and I cannot wait to tell the country about our astounding natural beauty. I am very excited about the experience that I gain from such competitions, which is very special to me. It has not been a month since I was chosen, but I already feel at home,” she said.
The Miss Teen Universe SA is an organisation that nurtures teenagers who are passionate about advocating for better lives for others, giving back to the community and grooming them to be young leaders.
Mabaso’s selection to be a finalist in the national competition comes after a great ordeal on July 19, which hindered her from competing on an international stage for Miss Teen Tourism Globe in Philippines.
“I was involved in a car accident about a week before the competition, and I injured my back, right ankle and head. My heart was broken that I could not represent my country and indulge in travelling to experience the cultures other countries have.”
The bubbly teenager said she is doing all she can to prepare herself for the big night. “My body is healing well from the accident and I hope my ankle will get used to be in high heels and the walk on the runway.”
The gorgeous young model, who began her modelling journey at age 15, is the current Miss Teen Tourism Universe SA and Miss Africa Influencer. She obtained these titles in KwaZulu-Natal in September 2021.

Mabaso said she looks up to a business mogul and model, Basetsana Khumalo. “To me she has proved that by following your dreams and putting hard work and passion into your work, you can accomplish more than what you ever dreamt possible.”
The Miss Teen Universe SA competition is set to take place in Johannesburg on December 18. The winner will get a chance to compete in the global stage of the competition in Spain.
Mabaso said the public can vote for her by purchasing voting bundles from R15. “The money for the votes can be deposited in the Miss Teen Universe SA, Absa cheque account, number 410 062 5049. The reference number for the deposit is ‘Noluthando Mabaso.'”
