IN PHOTOS: Emerging livestock farmers in Bohlabela District attend information day

This is one of the programmes by the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs.

Emerging livestock farmers in Hluvukani and Matibidi in the Bohlabela District gathered in their respective areas for farmers’ information days on Saturday September 3.

The events concentrated on livestock farming as a business.

The Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs’ (Dardlea) spokesperson, Zanele Shabangu said, “Dardlea partnered with the Agricultural Research Council’s Kaonafatso ya Dikgomo programme. This is to impart valuable information on the dangers of foot-and-mouth disease, the selection of the right bull to increase production, and livestock mortalities and abortions, including goat and sheep management practices.”


Shabangu said these gathering are beneficial to farmers who get an opportunity to engage presenters directly for clarity-seeking questions.
