Crèche in Masoyi afforded a fresh start

The preschool now has fully furnished classrooms equipped with various learning materials.

It was a joyful moment for the community of Phola when the Hollywood Foundation officially handed over a newly built preschool on Tuesday August 22.

The aim of this donation is to make a difference in the lives of the children in this region.

The Hollywood area manager, Maite Letsoalo, said the day care was discovered through other projects the foundation did.
“We had a handover at Luvelo Centre and that is when we met the ladies working at the daycare. During the visit we discovered that the daycare had many issues, and it was in a bad condition with a leaking roof and mould in the building.

“The foundation’s goal is to provide hope to our local communities by working together to bring about sustainable impact. We need to stand united, and show compassion, kindness and how powerful giving hope can be,” she said.

The new building now boasts three fully furnished classrooms equipped with various learning materials, such as educational charts and books, a sickbay, a kitchen, bathroom facilities and an office.

For the past five years, the centre has been operating from a crumbling building that was almost destroyed by storms several times. The founder of the preschool, Queen Mavimbele, said she does not have the words to express her gratitude to the foundation for their hard and beautiful work.
