Bishop donates blankets to elderly people

Bishop Blessing Chiliza gives back by donating 150 blankets to elderly people.

As part of commemorating Women’s Month, Bp Blessing Chiliza of the Jehovah Intervene Global Ministries donated 150 blankets to needy elderly people on Saturday August 13.

The blankets were accepted in Spelanyane Trust, Clau-Clau and Buyelani Trust.
Chiliza said he saw that elderly people in his church were struggling and that the aim of the event was to give back to the community.

“I saw that many elderly people are suffering and I have found it fit to restore dignity to less fortunate people by making a difference in their lives. The elderly people are blessings and they should be treated with respect.”
In his address, Chiliza urged everyone to celebrate women every day, not only in August. He encouraged people to share love.

Christina Mnisi, one of the beneficiaries, said she was happy to receive the donation.
“I am very grateful for what the bishop has done for all of us. He showed us that he loves and cares for the old people in the townships. I depend only on a pension grant to feed my family. I cannot afford to buy enough blankets to help keep my family warm, especially during cold nights.”
