Msogwaba woman seeks help launching her NPO

Valeria Mashaba is launching her Siphucul'impilo Drop-in Centre to give back to the less-privileged.

Calling for local women and businesses to support her idea to build a drop-in centre for abandoned children and drug and substance abuse addicts, Valeria Mashaba is on her way to make a difference in the Msogwaba community.

She has registered her non-profit organisation, the Siphucul’impilo Drop-in Centre, aimed at providing basic needs for underprivileged children and rehabilitating drug addicts.

Mashaba established the NPO in 2020 and has been operating since the beginning of this year, mostly from her home and at the Phumulani Mission Church of God of South Africa.

“I have opened up my home to quite a number of children and drug addicts who are willing to change their lives. I love giving, especially to people who are in need of help in the community,” Mashaba said.

Sharing her house and cooking for disadvantaged people, have played an important role in her life. “I have witnessed the social ills of my community, as I mostly am at home due to unemployment. This has encouraged me to seek sponsors who will help me have soup kitchens for the children at church. It breaks my heart when I see the little ones lacking a home or basic needs. I see that most people abandon the drug addicts roaming our streets and some of their families have given up on them,” she said.

She said she has helped a lot of drug addicts to become clean, working closely with SANCA.

The official launch of the Siphucul’impilo Drop-in Centre will take place on August 13, and Mashaba is calling on local businesses and individuals to support her dream.
“I am currently seeking sponsors who will support me to build up the drop-in centre. I have a stand for the building, but I do not have the funds to build. May God touch the hearts of the people who can help me achieve this dream,” she said.
