Pienaar centre for children and youth appeals for sponsorship

The centre's director, Pr Reginah Maseko, is pleading for help so that the children are housed in a safe structure, and have warm clothes and meals each day.

The Living Hope Children and Youth Centre provides full-time residential care for 14 orphaned, neglected children and young people aged between six and 18.
It also provides shelter to vulnerable survivors of rape and abuse. The shelter is currently in a bad state, and has a dilapidated roof ridden with holes.

She said they need support in terms of a building material and sponsorship.
“We are a registered NPO, however, the reason we live in this state is because we do not have funds and a donor. This home aids in empowering our underprivileged communities and lowering the number of street children, and we beg anyone who can chip in any way they can to do so. We hope social development will hear our plea and aid us in this situation.”

“Since long ago, we have applied for funding, but nothing has been successful. Although we are a registered non-profit, we are unable to obtain government funding, and as a result, must rely solely on donations and other forms of assistance from other organisations and the general public,” said Maseko.
