Malalane man charged with two counts of raping own daughters

The mother said she hopes the father gets the punishment he deserves for allegedly raping his children who are minors.

A 41-year-old man from Malalane was charged with two counts rape when he briefly appeared in the Malelane Periodic Court on Monday, October 21. The man was arrested on Saturday, October 19, for allegedly raping two of his daughters, aged six and 10.

His case was moved to Tonga Magistrate’s Court for a bail hearing, scheduled for November 7, and he remains in custody.

The victims’ sister shared the disturbing news with her friend at school, who later reported it to the teachers. After the school authorities learned about the abuse, the Department of Social Development was informed, and in turn, the matter was reported to the police.

I am in utter shock and disgusted that I have been married to a monster for the past 16 years. We have five children together.

The mother of the children said she is still in shock that her children have been subjected to such hideous acts under her nose.

“I am in utter shock and disgusted that I have been married to a monster for the past 16 years. We have five children together. I received a call from a social worker on Thursday asking to see me. It was during that meeting that they told me about what my children are going through at the hands of their own father. I am in disgust and disbelief,” said the mother.

Now that I think of it, this monster raped my children while I was on the same bed with them, passed out

She further added that she was unsuspecting as she would often come back from work tired and would be drugged by medicine.

“It has been a tough week because I have also learned that he used to do this with my 13-year-old as well. When she started resisting him about two years ago, he started molesting the younger ones. I am irked by the thought that we sometimes shared a bed with my children and I would often pass out from heavy antidepressants. Now that I think of it, this monster raped my children while I was on the same bed with them, passed out,” she claimed.

All five children have been taken to a place of safety by the police. The mother says all she wants is justice for her girls, a divorce, and for her husband to be punished.

“Now that all my children have been taken to safety, I will look for another place to stay while proceeding with the process of getting a divorce. I want him to be punished severely. When I went to see him yesterday for closure, he looked at me in my eyes and apologised. To me that’s admission of guilt and I hope he gets the punishment he deserves.”
