Lowvelders love nothing better than to have family over while the meat sizzles on the coals, but this year, they may need to resort to innovative ideas to entertain the family indoors.
There are tons of indoor activities children can participate in such as trying their hand at Origami (the Japanese art of folding paper into unique shapes), playing board games (Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit are firm family favourites), or playing a game of hide and seek.
For the adults, there is more grown-up fare in store such as Charades, Uno and a host of drinking party games that will provide hours of endless fun.
While it pours outside, move the braai into the garage or on the stoep, being mindful not to cause a fire and the traditional South African Christmas may not be lost.
