The Mpumalanga EFF has recorded a historic victory, as the party’s councillor candidate, Mafia Fane, was elected the new Ward 11 councillor in the Nkomazi Local Municipality.

The by-elections were held on Wednesday October 19. Over 3 000 eligible voters turned up to elect their preferred candidates.

“This resounding victory comes at the backdrop of robust community engagements and campaigns put together by our national, provincial, and regional command teams and our ground forces.
“This victory is proof enough that our people are starting to believe in our capabilities to lead, and we will not fail them,” said the provincial party leader, Collen Sedibe.

Sedibe said this was just the beginning, as they plan to cause an upset in the 2024 general elections.

“We are already working hard on the ground, and this victory we attained here at the ANC stronghold should tell you that the EFF is ready. Our people are hungry for better services, and they know it is only the EFF that can deliver. We will show them what service delivery is,” said Sedibe.
He thanked the community of Ward 11 for putting their trust in the EFF, and vowed to work around the clock to change their lives.
