UPDATE: Public transport in Lowveld will resume operating with immediate effect.
The meeting between taxi associations and Buscor yielded positive results.
The much anticipated meeting between the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport and various taxi associations yielded positive results after a long meeting this afternoon.
The meeting was also attended by the leadership of Santaco, led by the provincial chairperson, Fanyana Sibanyoni, and Major General Botsotso Moukangwe from the SAPS.

It has been resolved that normal operations for the eight taxi associations and Buscor will resume with immediate effect.
The department will engage with Buscor and other stakeholders before the next meeting.
The Department of Public Works Roads and Transport will convene another meeting in October 6 to give feedback on the issues tabled by the taxi associations.
