SamSam retains his Red Bull Shay’iMoto title

Samkeliso "SamSam" Thubane is the first driver to win the Red Bull Shay'iMoto twice in a row.

It appears as if SamSam cannot stop being in the lead. He outshined the other 11 contestants to retain his title at the Smokes and Wheelz arena on Saturday September 3.

SamSam represented Mpumalanga very well during the enthralling Red Bull Shay’ iMoto competition and lived up to his promise that he would do his best to hold on to his reign.

Reacting to his win, SamSam said, “I am very happy to be the first driver to win the title back to back. Earlier in the day, I was not feeling well, but I think the smell of burning tyres is my medication, because once I got into the car I felt like myself. I kept going and did my best. I still cannot believe I managed to win.”

All the live action was aired on Red Bull TV, SABC Sport DTT Channel 4, Open view 124 and Telkom One.

A repeat of the action will air on SABC Sport at a later date.
