IN PHOTOS: MEC Vusi Mkhatshwa hosts youth business expo and exhibition in Umjindi

The youth business expo looks to create job opportunities in the province.

As part of commemorating Mandela Month, the Department of Economic Development and Tourism hosted a much-needed youth business expo in Umjindi on Friday July 29.

The expo provided a platform for aspiring business people, SMMEs and co-operatives to engage directly with the department, its public entities and finance development institutions.


The exhibition aimed to equip young people with information that could help them gain access to opportunities, and it also aimed to engage young people in Umjindi and surrounds as a response to the challenges and issues they faced.

This event further sought to assist aspiring SMMEs to register and file annual returns for their businesses. It aims to create an enabling environment for SMMEs and co-operatives to thrive and find ways in which the provincial government and local entities can better attend to emerging local businesses.
