Siyabuswa gospel songbird bags nomination in Basadi in Music Awards

Bathabile Skhosana intends to win the award for Gospel Artist of the Year.

A multi-award-winning gospel artist, Bathabile Skhosana, is aiming for another accolade to her name.She was nominated for the Gospel Artist of the Year in the highly anticipated inaugural Basadi in Music Awards.

“I am so excited about and honoured by this nomination, because these awards are going to be one of the biggest. People are talking about them and I am happy that I am recognised for my music in the entire country,” Skhosana said.

The gospel musician and iKwekwezi FM acting programme manager from Siyabuswa is elated that her hard work and patience have paid off.
“I received awards from the Mpumalanga Gospel Music Awards, such as the Best Traditional Song for ‘Yebo Kunjalo’ in 2014 and Best Gospel Female in 2017.

I also received an award for Best Gospel Female in the Mpumalanga Fashion and Beauty Awards in 2016,” she said.

“The nominations mean the most to me, because that I can see the support I get from the communities in the province.”

Skhosana was nominated the Best Female in the Independent Gospel Music Awards in 2018. “God’s promises are manifesting because of where I am today. My life is a testimony that all works out for the good when you trust the Lord.”

She recorded her upcoming album in May at the State Theatre in Pretoria, and her supporters can expect an electrifying project. “I am elated about my album and I cannot wait to release it before the end of the year. Listeners can expect a revelation of my personality in the album and I am happy that my producer allowed me to direct it the way I wished.”

Skhosana said she would like to work with another Mpumalanga gospel great, Ian Calf, and the effervescent Zaza Mokheti.
She urged the public to vote for her by SMSing “GOSPEL BATHABILE SKHOSANA” to 49960 before July 31.
