TS Galaxy reinforces squad with Vilakazi and Mlambo

The addition of Mlambo and Vilakazi is expected to instil confidence and guidance to the young ones, said the club.

The Rockets are the only Mpumalanga team campaigning in the first tier of professional football in the country. The team signed two players with more extensive experience to balance out their squad. The team had earlier assured their fans that they would massively improve their goal-scoring in the upcoming campaign, and they are now living up to that assurance by signing Sbusiso “Villa” Vilakazi from Mamelodi Sundowns to strengthen their attack and Xola Mlambo from Amazulu to provide balance in the middle.

This was corroborated by the club’s spokesperson, Minenhle Mkhize, who said Villa boasts a wealth of experience and his addition to the club is going to be very valuable.
“Villa is a true professional on and off the field, which is what we are looking for in terms of his guidance and leadership. We are quite happy for acquiring his services as he will add value to our project. Having being with Mamelodi Sundowns for the past six years, he has won multiple titles. He will help us to make sure that we are able to fulfil our goal and promise of finishing in the top eight.

“We are quite excited to have him on board and we have no doubt that he will help us greatly in converting those chances into goals. We noted that last season we could create numerous clear goal-scoring opportunities, but failed to convert, but with Villa’s killer instinct and ability to find the back of the net, we are very adamant that he is going to be bringing in those goals.”

Mkhize said TS Galaxy are a team with great ambitions.
“We are in the top flight of football to add value, not just numbers. A testimony to that is having our young players defying the odds and making it into the national team at young age. We are the fastest-growing team in the country, having produced national team material.

We believe that having Villa with his wealth of experience is going to help greatly in guiding the younger ones, and we believe his values aligns with the goals of the club.

“We have several numbers of youngsters and several experienced players, like Lindukuhle Mbatha, who at the age of 36 is still going strong, and Vuyo Mere, who at the age of 37 also has a lot of experience. So the addition of this pair of Mlambo and Villa will also help to instil confidence and guidance to the young ones.

“Experience and balance are the key components that we looked at when acquiring the services of these two big household names,” said Mkhize.
