Kaapvallei Primary learners in Umjindi receive brand-new R20m school

The school was donated on Tuesday as part of honouring the late president Nelson Mandela

Barberton Mines has left a lasting legacy in Madiba’s name as they partnered with the Department of Education to donate the newly built Kaapvallei Primary School in Sheba Siding, Umjindi.

 

It was memorable moment for the learners as they walked on a red carpet when the school was officially donated on Tuesday July 19.
The 432 learners are beneficiaries of this kindness which has significantly improved their learning environment.

The new R20m school was constructed by Barberton Mines and consists of various sections, including classrooms, ablution facilities, administration blocks, science laboratories, and a dining and nutrition centre.

In his keynote address, the MEC for education, Bonakele Majuba, expressed his gratitude to the mine.

“We are motivated by the fact that this is not your first act of goodwill to our communities. We were there with you in spirit as you upgraded Ngwane Primary School in Spearville, Barberton. We truly appreciate all the great efforts and acts of philanthropy you have done for the school and education in general.”
