22-year-old CIT heist case in Graskop court

A heist had occurred in April 2000 on the Bushbuckridge/Graskop Road. A man serving time for another crime was recently linked to this incident.

A 49-year-old man appeared in the Graskop Magistrate’s Court on Thursday June 30 regarding a 22-year-old cash-in-transit heist case.

David Thambo Duba is facing charges of aggravated armed robbery and two counts of attempted murder for a cash-in-transit heist that occurred on the Graskop/Bushbuckridge Road in April 2000.

The magistrate moved the case to the Nelspruit Regional Court, where Duba is expected to appear on August 1.

He will remain behind bars until his next appearance.

Duba is currently serving time in a prison in another province for a crime he had committed in 2017.
