Team Mpumalanga have excelled at the 2022 National Schools Sports Championships. Talented athletes competed in chess, netball and volleyball at the University of Stellenbosch from July 4 to 7.

The U17 boys and girls’ volleyball teams won gold as a result of their valiant efforts. In the U14 girls’ volleyball competition, the province won a bronze. After the Western Cape took first place in the overall standings across the three sports, Mpumalanga came second. While their male counterparts won the Best Setter Award, the provincial volleyball girls’ team also won awards for Best Attacker, Libero, Defender, and Setter.
Angel Khoza of Bukhosibetfu Special School was awarded the overall Best Deaf Player of the Tournament.

MEC Bonakele Majuba expressed his delight as the team flew the provincial flag high.
