“I strongly believe I have what it takes to become the next queen. I know I have the qualities and the mindset to serve my province,” Mokwena said. She said the only reason she entered Miss Mpumalanga, was the fact that she wanted to help bring about change in her community and the province as a whole.

“Honestly, this has always been my long-term goal ever since I started modelling at a young age. I knew and understood that in order to make a difference in the community, this would be the perfect platform. My plans are to bring artistic educational to help improve communities. This will also provide unity, talent refinement and self-confidence to the young girls in my community,” she said.

“I want to run campaigns in schools as I will be targeting the young girls and educating them about independency, business and how to prevent teenage pregnancies. I grew up seeing many young girls’ talents going to waste and them struggling after they had given up on their dreams. This is where I want to come in and help bring hope to these girls.” Mokwena holds a diploma in arts, performing musical theatre and dance.
