Man bust for alleged possession of 230kg of dagga

A 37-years-old man is expected to appear before Hendrina Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, January 26.

This follows his arrest on Monday at about 08:30 by the Secunda Flying Squad members.

According to police spokesperson Brig Selvy Mohlala, the police members were conducting their highway patrols at Hendrina/Bethal road when they spotted a suspicious Toyota Hilux bakkie.

“They then stopped and searched the said vehicle and discovered bags of dagga weighing 230 kg. The suspect was immediately arrested for dealing with dagga. The Provincial Commissioner of SAPS in Mpumalanga Lt Gen Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has applauded the members for their vigilance during patrols and encouraged them to continue working hard,” Mohlala said.
