Help those who need it the most

On a quest to bring about change, three men are requesting community members to let them know if they see or know of a child with old school shoes.

KANYAMAZANE – Innocent Mabuza, Thulane Lubisi and Azisi Nkosi have been buying school shoes for these children since 2017.

“When we realised just how many kids are forced to go to school wearing shoes that are worn out due to their background, we knew we had to do something. We started buying shoes for the few kids that we would see. “As the years passed, we started reaching out to the community through social media. This has made us realise that the need for school shoes is bigger than we thought. We have people calling us almost every day asking us to assist. We decided to also add school uniforms for those who need it,” said Mabuza.

So far they have managed to donate shoes to about 40 children.

According to him, they buy everything out of their own pocket. “I sell vegetables in our township and this is where I realised that there’s a need to assist. We do not have a sponsor, but we will not let this stop us from doing this initiative.” Mabuza said they will continue to hand out shoes as long as they receive a request from those who are struggling to make ends meet
