Son and mother found murdered in Mataffin
Nelspruit SAPS attended to a scene in Mataffin on Sunday morning, December 5, where two people had been found dead.
A case of two counts of murder is being investigated by the Nelspruit SAPS after two bodies had been discovered on Sunday morning, December 5, in Mataffin outside Mbombela.
The police had been informed of a bad odour emanating from a certain house there. They went to investigate at about 08:30.

According to a police statement, “When the members arrived at the house, they found the door closed but unlocked, and discovered the body of a 44-year-old woman on the ground with a bed on top of her.
“The victim’s head was covered with a plastic bag and she had visible wounds on her shoulder.”
The neighbours further informed the police that the woman was residing with her son and that they both had last been seen on Thursday December 2.
“The body of a 28-year-old man, believed to be the woman’s son, was found in the garage with stab wounds.”
