Local choir continues to make a difference

Kenneth Sithole, the leader of the clubhouse, said it is their culture and mission to make a difference in the community.

Jabulani Rock of Ages Clubhouse has once again come to the rescue of the needy families in this area. The club donated food, clothes, shoes and sanitary towels on Saturday November 6.

Jabulani Rock of Ages Clubhouse is a clap-and-tap gospel choir based in Pienaar. Kenneth Sithole, the leader of the clubhouse, said it is their culture and mission to make a difference in the community.

“We decided to find a way in which we can make a difference in our community. It is our culture and mission to donate clothes, as we realised the dire need for the less fotunate within Pienaar. “We realised that young girls also need sanitary towels as they grow. Some cannot go to school due to not being able to afford them. We made it our duty as a choir to spot the basic needs of our people and contribute where we can.”

According to him, when they delivered the items, they realised the community were indeed in dire need of them. “All the items that we had were taken, and that, according to me, says what we did is just what the community needed. The fact that families come in numbers when we invite them means these donations are helpful to them and appreciated.” On Sunday, the choir also donated food to Zion Christian Church in Daantjie.

Sithole urged those who would like to assist with clothes, whether new or used, to also practise the culture of giving.
