Family stands outside court seeking justice for their loved one

Still reeling from shock, the family of slain Tebogo Mabunda is seeking justice for their murdered daughter.

Allegedly shot and killed by her husband Mugiyo Mabunda who is standing trial at the Mpumalanga High Court, Tebogo’s family said nothing will please them than to see their daughter’s alleged killer behind bars.

Linnet Sibuyi (the vivtims’ mother) , the victims’ son and Kgopotso Matuwe.

The family joined by friends and community members staged peaceful picketing outside the Mpumalanga High Court on Wednesday where the trial is being heard. It is alleged that Mugiyo shot and killed Tebogo outside their home in Mbombela last year on May 14.

He was arrested and released on a R10 000 bail.

Linnet Sibuyi the mother of the victim could hold her tears back as she shared her story with us. She said the family still does not understand the main problem that led to her daughter getting shot and killed.

“On the day of the incident I had been waiting for her phone call since I was in the hospital. However instead I received a phone call that she was shot and I am struggling to come to terms with this. The kids are suffering, and they do not understand why their mother is no longer around. The kids need their mothers’ love, and he has deprived them of their mothers’ love because what he did. My daughters’ kids are still too young,” she explained.
