Man arrested for another murder when he appeared in Mkhuhlu Magistrate’s Court for a previous one

Johan Edward Ndlovu (34), an alleged member of Mpumalanga gangsters, was remanded in custody in the Mkhuhlu Magistrate's Court on Friday July 30.

Ndlovu was arrested for murder at the magistrate’s court by members of the Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation team on Thursday July 29, while he was appearing for another murder in Culcutta and the possession of unlicensed firearms.

On November 18, 2019, an unknown suspect fatally wounded Vincent Ngwato (37), shooting at him with a lot of bullets at one of the taverns in Mkhuhlu while he was drinking. The suspect fled the scene without been seen.

“The case was transferred to the Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation for probing. During the investigation, the team linked the suspect, who was in prison, having been arrested for another murder and the possession of unlicensed firearms, with the murder of Ngwato, and he was charged,” said the provincial Hawks’s spokesperson, Capt Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi.The case was postponed to August 4 for the appointment of legal representatives.

The investigation continues.
