More than ten suspects were found in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

“This unwavering collaboration between security forces has once again brought the desired outcome to ensure the safety of citizens as well as their property. These operations are continuous and no stone will be left unturned. The community is therefore urged to partner with police with the sole purpose of squeezing crime and its root causes for the benefit of the public.”

Some of the suspects have already appeared in various courts across the province. Others are expected to appear on Monday. Others though, were slapped with hefty fines.

“The management of police, led by Maj Gen Thulani Phahla, who is the acting provincial commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, was pleased with the success and further urged the community to pledge their support to police by reporting all criminal conduct,” said Hlathi.

Phahla said people who are involved in crime are known within their communities.

“We therefore plead with all community members to come forth with information that can assist police in their quest to combat crime,” concluded Phahla.
