Postmortem results to determine cause of teenager’s death

The Mpumalanga police could not confirm Facebook rumours surrounding the death of a teenage boy, Alton Taylor Masinga of Msogwaba.

According to Facebook posts, the teenager was killed, allegedly by his mother who apparently strangulated him and hit him with a television on his chest. It is alleged the incident took place in a room they were renting in the area.

The provincial police spokesperson, Brig Leonard Hlathi, could not confirm the allegations made against the deceased’s mother.

“These are still rumours. We are still waiting for the postmortem results to determine the cause of death. His mother was taken by the police for questioning,” he said.
